When you participate in an educational cohort, trip, or fellowship companion program, you or your sponsoring organization may provide:
- Identity & Contact Details: Full name, email address, and phone number or last 4 digits (used solely for device authentication).
- Seminar & Attendance Verification: Timestamps and attendance records recorded when you check in to educational seminars or workshops using physical session PIN codes.
- Written Reflections & Coursework: Text responses, essays, or answers submitted in response to curriculum prompts or podcast study sheets.
- Completion & Review Statuses: Progress status indicators (e.g., Pending Review, Approved, or Revision Requested) set by authorized cohort coordinators.
B. Physical NFC Device Tap Information
Tapping a Tap to Torah NFC wristband or card opens a web URL on your device. NFC tags provided by Tap to Torah are read-only identifiers that do not store personal biometric or private identity records on the chip itself.
C. Technical & Analytics Data
Like most modern web services, we automatically receive certain basic technical data:
- Google Analytics (GA4): We utilize Google Analytics to understand aggregate site performance, pageviews, and general device/browser usage. Analytics data is anonymized and aggregated.
- Local Browser Storage: Our applications use browser
localStorageand Service Worker caching so that offline liturgies, trip schedules, and your personal study progress remain accessible when you are traveling or disconnected from the internet.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use information collected through our services exclusively for legitimate educational and operational purposes:
- To authenticate participants and link their personal devices to their cohort roster.
- To track fellowship requirements, verify seminar attendance, and present written reflections for program completion review.
- To ensure reliable offline availability of schedules, prayers, and study materials during retreats and travel missions.
- To maintain system security, detect technical errors, and ensure optimal platform performance.
4. Data Sharing & Access Controls
We do not sell, rent, or monetize your personal data. We never share student information, attendance logs, or written reflections with third-party data brokers, marketers, or advertisers.
Access to participant records is strictly restricted to:
- Designated Event & Fellowship Organizers: Sponsoring program coordinators, rabbis, and trip staff responsible for grading reflections, verifying attendance, and certifying fellowship completion.
- Tap to Torah LLC Technical Administrators: Authorized system personnel directly maintaining database infrastructure, server security, and system reliability.
- Secure Cloud Infrastructure Providers: Highly reputable database and hosting providers (such as Neon PostgreSQL and Cloudflare) operating under rigorous security and data protection standards.
5. Data Retention & Security
All student data and submission records are transmitted using modern TLS/HTTPS encryption and stored in secure, access-controlled databases.
Fellowship submissions and attendance data are maintained for the duration of the program and may be archived indefinitely to verify past alumni completion and fellowship honors. However, you retain the right to request deletion of your personal data at any time (see Section 7).
6. Children & Youth Privacy
While collegiate and adult fellowship programs are designed for participants ages 18 and older, Tap to Torah also provides NFC touchpoints and companion platforms for youth groups, schools, summer programs, and teen retreats.
When our tools are utilized by educational institutions or programs involving minors under the age of 18 (or under 13 under the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, COPPA), all participant participation is coordinated through and authorized by the sponsoring school or youth organization. We do not use minor data for behavioral advertising or profile building. If you believe a minor has submitted personal information without institutional or parental authorization, please contact us for prompt removal.
7. Your Rights & Contact Information
You have the right to request a copy of the personal information stored in your account or request the complete deletion of your profile, attendance history, and reflection submissions.
