Bridging Jewish Tradition and Modern Technology
Tap to Torah introduces physical touchpoints to digital Jewish experiences. Custom NFC wearables that instantly connect your community, students, or event attendees to your custom digital content—no app required.
How It Works
Frictionless digital delivery. No app store downloads, no complex setups, no logins required.
From Physical Tap to Beautiful Content

Distribute Physical Touchpoint
Guests receive an NFC wristband at a retreat, a bencher card at a wedding, a swag item at an orientation, or scan a synagogue plaque.

Simply hold the top of any smartphone near the touchpoint. No camera or application needed.

General & Product
What is Tap to Torah?
Tap to Torah creates high-quality, wearable smart wristbands embedded with passive NFC microchips. By tapping the band against any modern smartphone, users instantly unlock digital content—such as daily Torah readings, event itineraries, prayer books (benchers), or custom organization hubs—without downloading an app.
How does tapping work?
Simply hold the front patch of your wristband against the back or top of your smartphone. Your phone’s built-in NFC reader automatically detects the band and opens the corresponding web page in your mobile browser instantly.
Halacha & Shabbos Compliance
Can I wear my Tap to Torah wristband on Shabbos?
Yes. Because our wristbands utilize 100% passive NFC microchips—which store no electrical power, contain no battery, and cannot activate without a powered smartphone directly next to them—they function purely as a wearable accessory in a normal Shabbos environment.
World-renowned rabbinic authority and scholar Rabbi Yitzchak Breitowitz (Rav of Kehillas Ohr Somayach in Jerusalem) has ruled that as long as the wristband is designed to be attractive enough that someone would wear it for its appearance, it is not muktzeh and may be worn on Shabbos.
Does tapping the band work on Shabbos?
No. Electronic devices should not be used or tapped on Shabbos. However, because the band itself contains no active circuitry, battery, or stored energy when not in contact with a powered smartphone, wearing it purely as a decorative wristband on Shabbos is fully permitted.
Technology & Durability
Do I need to charge the wristband or replace batteries?
No. Tap to Torah bands use passive microchips that require zero power or batteries. The chip is powered entirely by the electromagnetic field emitted from the scanning phone for the fraction of a second during a tap.
Do users need to install an app?
No app required! NFC reading is natively supported on modern iOS (iPhone XS and newer) and Android smartphones.
Are the wristbands water-resistant and durable?
Yes. The internal microchips are sealed inside a protective layer embedded within high-grade, full-color sublimated elastic fabric. The bands are designed for everyday wear and active environments like summer camps, retreats, and travel trips.
Organizations, Trips & B2B
Can organizations customize the content linked to the wristbands?
Yes! We offer dynamic redirect management. Whether you need the bands to link to a retreat itinerary, campus announcements, event schedules, or custom learning portals, we can configure and update destination links at any time behind the scenes without replacing physical hardware.
Do you offer custom branding for schools, camps, and synagogues?
Yes! We offer custom-designed bands that integrate your organization's logos, colors, and event branding directly onto the wristbands.
